Summary:

The new Macbeth DeltaLogTM Model NCR-100 is an electronic photometer which has been specifically developed to provide the printer with a convenient instrument which can be used to supplement experienced judgment in maintaining color uniformity during production press runs. The principle of operation of this instrument is based upon an optical null-balance technique which permits the instrument to be programmed from a visually approved proof or press sheet. This instrument employs a zero-center, 50-0-50u a meter as a null indicator which enables the press operator to determine at a glance if the ink-film thickness of the sample being measured falls within previously established light and dark tolerances without having to make actual meter readings. The new Macbeth DeltaLogTM Model NCR-lOO is, therefore, a simple-to-operate electronic go, no-go device which any pressman can employ to maintain color uniformity during production press runs.
