Pre-Proofing Gravure Color Separations with Cibachrome Graphic.

Cibachrome Graphic, a direct positive dye destructive three-color photographic print material, was adapted to pre-proofing continuous tone four-color gravure separation positives. Optimum comparative color and tone reproduction characteristics between the Cibachrome pre-proof and gravure color printing were established and control techniques developed for maintaining gray balance and simulating the gravure black printer record with the Cibachrome three-color black.
