Summary:

Press coating will be dealt with as a printing system with the objective of setting ink on paper in a manner that the process will be non-polluting and energy conserving. In this system, ink components are retained on the paper instead of being released into the atmosphere. There are number of components of the press coating system which must work together to produce on paper the desired film of ink that can be processed immediately after printing and which will enhance the appearance of the print. At least three approaches to the solution of the problem will be discussed, along with the economic aspects.
