Summary:
Automation has come to the darkroom and to the gallery in the form of equipment which relieves the operator of much physical labor and manual control effort. The latest system of this type is the subject of this paper, a truly automatic roll film camera and processor system. The paper describes the machinery and programming controls. It shows the advantages of this system for providing maximum productivity, reducing cycle time, and minimizing wasted motion and operator fatigue. The automatic roll film camera system allows production of developed negatives, with one-man gallery control, and allows the operator to concentrate completely on copy evaluation and handling.
