Relationship of Surface Energy of Lithographic Plates and Inks to Printability

Studies have been made of the surface energy of the inks and their polar and dispersion components have also been determined in an attempt to relate these values to the printing behavior of the ink/plate combination. Data on surface properties of worn plates and their relationship to scumming is also presented.
