The 1970-72 GATF Color Survey.

Details:

Year: 1972
Pages: 21

Summary:

A color survey, designed to collect data on the color of printed ink films, unprinted paper surfaces, and color reproduction methods, has recently been concluded by GATF. Participants in the survey were drawn from the world-wide GATF membership. Printed samples were produced by the lithographic, letterpress, and gravure printing processes. Sample measurement methods included both densitometric and spectrophotometric techniques. Data analysis revealed a wide spread of primary color printed densities which contributed to the extreme color scatter of the secondary colors. Information derived from the questionnaire on color reproduction methods indicated the significant use being made of color scanners and web-fed presses for the reproduction of color.
