Toward a Definition of Printability.

The need for a concise definition of printability is discussed. It is proposed to define printability in terms of measurable quantities of the printed result, e.g., resolution, contrast, and tone density. The various factors which affect printability, such as ink and paper properties, impression conditions, etc., can then be correlated with the final printed result.
