U.V. Curing: Role of Radiant Absorption by Photoinitiators.

Pages: 23

Summary:

A theory is derived which takes account of the UV source spectrum, the spectral absorptions of photo-initiator and oligomer, coating thickness and substrate reflectance and yields the spectral radiant power absorbed in the layers of a clear coating. Distinctions between surface cure and bottom cure and the role of the absorption peaks of the photo-initiator are presented with experimental verification.
