Summary:
A brief description of the Inkometer is given and how it operates. Three printing problems that can be overcome by reducing tacks of inks are presented. The first concerns picking and splitting of a weak sheet of coated paper. The second and third are trapping problems. Included with each example is data obtained on the Inkometer before and after changing the ink. The areas where the instrument can be used as a control instrument are listed and its use as a research development tool for new types of work is described. Establishing records of runs that can be referred to in the future are one of the Inkometer's main assets. The three problems with the actual operating data illustrate how useful it is to the printer to build up information of this type.
