Summary:
The formation of filaments between the parting surfaces of Inkometer rollers as photographed by Mr. Sjodahl is presented as evidence that the elastic factor is significant in ink deformation. The method of forming these filaments must follow the path of least resistance. With simple Newtonian liquids, the formation of filaments is shown to be impossible without outside influence. The presence of an elastic factor in ink deformation is the only apparent explanation of filament formation.
