Summary:
A printing and binding system in which paper is unwound from a roll, printed, scanned for print quality imperfections, punched for register, slit into multiple webs and rewound into rolls, then later unwound and joined with adhesive interlock is suggested; the paginated webs become input material for a comprehensive bindery machine, producing booklets, catalogs or other such printed products. Our purpose is to disclose a new system of web printing and web binding which has a potential advantage, compared to present modes of operation, in that it should provide an increase in productivity per man hour, for certain types of printed matter.
