The Academy
Established in 1973 by the Association’s Board of Directors, the Academy of Screen and Digital Print Technologies (ASDPT) recognizes individuals who have contributed to the technical growth and advancement of the printing industry.
Academy Mission Statement
The ASDPT is an international body of experts which honors qualified individuals through election to the membership for their distinguished, long-term contributions to, and application and promotion of, screen and digital printing and associated imaging technologies for graphic, textile, industrial, and electronic printing applications.
Academy members are active in providing technical education, consultation, and promotion of the technical and commercial development of the industry.
Any Academy member may submit a nomination! The Academy seeks those with a strong interest in screen and digital printing technologies and has worked to further the use of the technology through speaking, writing, or working in the manufacturing setting. The Academy membership consists of suppliers, printers, and educators with a strong background in these printing platforms.

What is the purpose of the Academy?
The Academy’s purpose is to promote and encourage the development of screen and digital printing through technical papers and other means of fostering knowledge associated with imaging technologies for graphic, textile, industrial, and electronic printing applications.
Academy members regularly submit, review, recognize and recommend technical papers for publication under the auspices of the Academy. Members are also active in providing technical education, consultation, adjudication of printing image quality, and promotion of the technical and commercial development of the industry.
To recognize Academy members for their informational contributions to the industry, one member is awarded the Dave Swormstedt Sr. Memorial Award each year. This honor recognizes an individual for an exceptionally written article discussing any aspect of screen printing or graphic imaging.
Who can be nominated to The Academy?
Any individual in the screen and/or digital industry as a printer, supplier, or educator, domestic or international, can be nominated for membership by a current Academy member. From those nominated, three new members are inducted into The Academy, and the current membership selects inductees. All nominees are judged based on information provided in the Nomination Form.
Who can provide a nomination?
