Maryland EPR Bill Awaits Signature

The Maryland General Assembly has passed Senate Bill 901 (S.B. 901), which would enact extended producer responsibility for paper and packaging in the state. The legislation awaits the signature of Gov. Wes Moore. Both The American Forest & Paper Association (AF&PA) and PRINTING United Alliance have opposed the bill and strongly recommended excluding 'paper products' from the bill, as it will unfairly burden printing operations, packaging converters, and paper-based product manufacturers.
