Heads Up! Ontario Safety Blitz!

The Ontario Ministry of Labour has launched a safety blitz targeting the safe operation of machinery at industrial workplaces.  Inspectors will focus on ensuring that adequate and appropriate training is being provided to employees on lockout/tagout procedures; machine guarding procedures; and ensuring that all machines are equipped with appropriate guards and/or safety devices.  These unscheduled inspections will focus on the employee's understanding of the aforementioned procedures; that appropriate protective clothing is being worn; and that employees are reporting machine and other workplace hazards to supervisors.  SGIA will continue to montior activity on this important legislative initiative.  SGIA will continue to monitor this activity.  Sign up to receive the most up-to-date regulatory and legislative information about specialty imaging.
