OSHA Releases Their Hazard Classification Guidance Document

OSHA has just released and posted their Hazard Classification Guidance which is designed to assist chemical manufacturers and importers identify chemical hazards and classify these hazards for employees and downstream users. This is a useful tool for manufacturers, importers and suppliers to meet their regulatory requirements under the 2012 Hazard Communication Standard. The guidance can also be used by employers who choose to conduct hazard classifications as a means to assure the accuracy and completeness of information received by manufacturers and suppliers. The new guidance contains a host of information on the processes involved and identifies considerations when conducting hazard classifications.
