For Immediate Release Fairfax, Virginia — The annual ASDPT Tom Frecska Student Printing Competition is now accepting entries on behalf of graphic arts students — and future members of the professional imaging community. “This competition challenges students to print their best work, and they get evaluated by some of the best printers in the industry,” said Erin Nuss, SGIA’s Associate Manager of Education. “There’s no better way to prove what they can do, and the opportunity to display it in front of thousands of potential employers is unbeatable.” The competition honors superior work within a variety of categories, and represents students from the secondary (high school and vocational) division and post-secondary (technical school, college or university) division. All submissions are judged by members of the Academy and displayed in the Golden Image Gallery on the trade show floor of the 2016 SGIA Expo (Las Vegas, September 14–16). Awards include the Certificate of Merit and the Award of Excellence. All Award of Excellence winners are eligible for the coveted Best of Show title (one per division), which awards $500 to use towards the student’s graphic arts education. Instructors of each Best of Show student winner will also receive $500 to use towards their school’s graphic arts educational program. SGIA Educator Members must submit entries on behalf of their students by June 30, 2016. Show us what your students are made of in the top student printing competition in the industry — enter now!
