Health Canada Releases WHMIS Technical Guidance

Health Canada has released Phase 1 of the Technical Guidance on the Requirements of the Hazardous Products Act (HPA) and the Hazardous Products Regulations (HPR) - WHMIS 2015 Supplier Requirements. There are two phases established for the technical document.

Phase 1 of the Technical Guidance focuses on classification principles, hazard communication and Confidential Business Information (CBI). Phase 2 will focus on physical hazard and health hazard classification and is expected to be released in Fall 2016.
The purpose of the technical document is to provide guidance on the requirements of the Hazardous Products Act (HPA) and the Hazardous Products Regulations (HPR) to suppliers of hazardous products destined for Canadian workplaces.
