A reverse printer, also known as a double-sided sheetfed offset press, prints the bottom and the top of a sheet, respectively, in a single pass without turning the sheet over. Komori had the idea several decades ago and recently turned the idea into a sophisticated reality with its 29x41-in. GLX40RP offset press, a 2020 InterTech Technology Award recipient. A reverse printer handles thicker substrates better than a long perfector and saves paper since only one gripper margin is required.
U.S. International Trade Commission Approves Tariffs Targeting Aluminum Lithographic Printing Plates from China and Japan
On October 22, 2024, the U.S. International Trade Commission (USITC) determined that a U.S. industry is materially injured by imports of aluminum lithographic printing plates from China and Japan. The U.S. Department of Commerce determined that the printing plates are being sold at less than fair value and subsidized by the government of the People’s Republic of China.
