This event will showcase the many advantages gained by combining the highest quality, and most cost-effective, RMGT LED Offset print with the latest in Horizon finishing solutions in what was originally a digital-oriented mailing company. “The transition to LED Offset on our RMGT has been seamless,” states Kevin Bennett, president of EZ Mailing. “Adding the Horizon equipment has helped us complete the puzzle for projects of every size and shape.Gary Greis from Graphco had to talk me into the press, but the rest of this finishing equipment just made too much sense not to buy.”
“One of our goals for EZ Mailing was to help them move from a Mailing Service Provider to a fully integrated commercial printer with outstanding mailing resources,” states Gary Greis, regional sales manager of Graphco. “Today Kevin’s operation can provide virtually every type of print project at a quality level and turn time that most printers can’t touch. LED technology allows jobs to be instantly cured and moved into finishing immediately.”
The economic benefits that EZ Mailing has enjoyed in print are also being achieved in their finishing department which now features an entire suite of Horizon finishing solutions. Very quickly after installing the RMGT, it was clear that folding and saddle-stitching the volume of booklet work that this new press produces was a huge bottleneck, so a Horizon StitchLiner was installed to free up more scheduling room for additional production. “The StitchLiner convinced me that Horizon equipment would help us realize the full benefit of our RMGT investment,” comments Bennett.
In addition to the StitchLiner, EZ Mailing’s finishing department features the Horizon RD-4055-DMC rotary die cutter, the Horizon AFC-566-FG fully automatic paper folder, and two Horizon CRF-362 creasing/folding machines. “Our quality and cost are about the best in town,” says Bennett, “and our speed to market is what our customers seem to like the most since we do lots of direct mail with tight deadlines. We get the approval, we print the job, we roll it into finishing, and we box the jobs up that afternoon. Or we inkjet and mail the jobs the same day. Our customers love that.”
“The much lower cost of operation and high print quality of the RMGT 9 Series press gives EZ Mailing what we refer to as The Unfair Advantage over their competition,” states Chris Manley, president of Graphco. “Kevin’s recent investment in streamlining the finishing operation with solutions from Standard Horizon has added to the profitability of their operation. This two-day open house will allow our visitors to see for themselves how all these solutions come together to provide added production and profit potential to their own operations.”
“We are happy to host The Unfair Advantage Open House,” concludes Kevin Bennett. “Recently, we have had to do more work with less workers, as we have staggered our staffing to be compliant with health and safety standards. Investing in offset print and finishing was the right move at the right time. Our customers come to us because they expect the highest quality. With all the upgrades we’ve made in the past year, we can meet and exceed their expectations. I personally couldn’t run the RMGT press, but finishing equipment is easy enough that even I could run them in a pinch.”
Printers who attend The Unfair Advantage Open House will learn how RMGT offset presses and LED technology is revolutionizing the offset print world. Visitors will also see how solutions from Standard Horizon simplify staffing and increase profitability in their finishing operations.
