FDC’s Core Values are believed to be the five most important values in the way the company employees live and work: integrity, kindness, resiliency, engagement, and drive for success.
“Our team, our customers, and the world have faced difficult challenges this past year. These team members demonstrate their commitment to the Core Values through their actions, which makes me very proud,” said Judy Eck, CEO of FDC. “Thank you to all of the nominees. It is a pleasure to be surrounded by a team that is passionate about the FDC’s goals and exhibits compassion toward one another every day.”
Alfred Barlue, a production associate, was recognized for this drive for success. Barlue has worked the past 12 months with perfect attendance, often arriving early and staying late. And for the past three years, he has often been the only one at rolldown producing with no complaints. Barlue’s daily rate far exceeds anyone who has ever been in his position. He plays a critical role in backorders and making sure products are delivered on time, complete, and error-free.
A shipping team was nominated for its drive for success. Team members include Fernando Cocoletzi-Gomez, a team lead, and Justin Mohr, a shipping associate. Cocoletzi-Gomez and Mohr open the Reno warehouse every morning, often arriving early and staying late. They work as a team developing a highly efficient routing for filling back orders, getting the truck freight, and receiving completed daily while their shipments, often early, are prepared to the highest standards of quality. Cocoletzi-Gomez also does not hesitate to jump into production to help, including boxing. During downtime, either of them will find something to help with, or complete 5S projects—without complaint. Cocoletzi-Gomez has earned this award for three consecutive years since 2020. The first is also for his drive for success, and the second for his engagement. This is Mohr’s second award, the first earlier this year again for his drive for success.
Brett Corbin, a customer care agent, was recognized for her kindness and drive for success. Corbin showed much patience with a new customer care agent while asking many questions and continuing to manage orders, answer phone calls, and respond to online chats—all during FDC’s largest revenue month in company history. The new customer care agent attributed her feeling of success to her helpful training. This is Corbin’s second award, the first in 2021 for her drive for success and engagement. She is also an active member of the FDC Work-Life Team.
In the company’s first triple nomination, Cory Kroger, a shipping team lead, was recognized for his resiliency and drive for success. Kroger arrives early every day to prepare paperwork for trucks that need to be loaded that day and stays late if needed to ensure preparation for trucks shipping the next day. He looks for ways to improve the shipping process and has made it more efficient while checking in with his team after work to ensure that everything is still moving smoothly without errors. Kroger takes the time and effort to prepare orders to ship out the same day as much as possible—even when it would be reasonably expected to ship the next day—to service customers more quickly. During the recent challenging growth period at FDC, Kroger has also grown by taking the initiative to make sure less-than-truckload (LTL) shipping stays afloat with consistent communication with Customer Care and Production as he leads the Shipping team as a positive influence holding himself and others accountable to help fulfill customer needs.
Each employee received an FDC Core Values Ambassador Award certificate from the FDC Work-Life Team signed by Eck.
