This report is based on survey of 69 apparel decorators conducted in October 2023. Participants have annual sales (all sources) ranging from less than $250,000 to more than $20 million and offer a broad range of decoration technologies, including screen printing, embroidery, direct-to-film, direct-to-garment, sublimation, and custom cut/sew. Topics covered include how sales, operating cost inflation, prices, and pre-tax profitability trended through midyear 2023, expectations for full-year 2023, plans for boosting profitability in 2024, planned capital investment rates, and most desired capital investments. In addition to business conditions and expectations, the report also includes a primer on incorporating artificial intelligence into your business, and why answering the question Satisfied or completely satisfied? is critical to increasing customer retention.
